Psycho Series Episode 3

After the success of Psycho II Universal wanted another follow-up to the classic slasher series. Norman and Mother are once again executing their judgment on the immoral hotel guests. Yet for the plot similarity to the original, this film, as directed by star Anthony Perkins, is a unique standout in the series. With an opening shout of “There is no God!” to a quirky cast of characters, Perkins’ stylistic influences strayed far from Hitchcock. Ultimately, this would be the last theatrical Psycho film until the 1990s remake. Did this tonal change provide a satisfying end to the Psycho trilogy?
