Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey changed film forever. Its effects created a visual language that would later be built on in George Lucas’ Star Wars, Ridley Scott’s Alien, Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and countless other movies.
