In 1994 Quentin Tarantino’s name was dominating cinema.  Reservoir Dogs had found a huge audience on video. Pulp Fiction won the Palme d’Or at Cannes and movie buffs anxiously awaited for its October wide release. Through self-promotion and film-making, Tarantino was a media darling.

But beating Pulp Fiction to theaters was Natural Born Killers – Oliver Stone’s thesis on the media based on one of Tarantino’s early scripts.  And in 1994 fans had to decide which Tarantino film was their favorite.  Natural Born Killers’ legacy is more controversial, with many real-life killers citing the film as their inspiration.
